The “via Appia” is a Roman street that connected Rome and Brundisium (Brindisi), one of the most important harbours of ancient Italy, whence the trade routes from Greece to East used to depart.
The “Appia”, considered by the ancient Romans the Regina Viarum (queen of the streets), is universally recognized as one of the greates eingineering work in the ancient world.
A floor made by Appia Antica stone is an aeulogy to the History and the Culture.

In the past centuries this name was often given to the town of some importance which had a local market and a fortification.

Thanks to these structures the borgo was different from the village and the town. Probably during the Lombard age the borgo, which always stands on flat ground, at the meeting of one or more valleys , used toperform an administrative and jurisdictional role for all the concerning area.

The Borgo stone floor connects and warms the rooms.

The Gothic has been an europe phenomenon with very complex and variegated features, that concerned all the european art production area.
In architecture were born the light walls, covered with beautiful stained-glass window, to which corresponded on the outside a complex reticulation of components for the forces discharging.
The flying buttresses, the pinnacles, the discharge arcs are all stuctural elements, that contain and send to the ground the side thrust of the roofing, while the masonry infills loose importance, replaced by the strained-glass window.

A Mulino/Mill (or Molino, from latin “molinum” derived from mola/millstone), is an instrument that produces mechanic work by a force exploitation.
This mechanic work is exploited for the milling of cereals (for example in the flour production) o other raw materials.
Choosing this smooth and worn stone floor, you are immediatly transported inside a mill, near the millstone, surrounded by the smell of freshly ground flour.
